3 Tips for Working from Home

Working from home has become more and more common for a lot of people over the last two years especially. I’ve been working from home for a few years and have learned a few tricks along the way!

1. Write down the priorities for the week

Include both work and personal tasks!

This is the easiest tip to implement! Simply writing down your priorities for the day/week helps you get a better view of what you need to get done and what is of lesser importance.

It’s important to include personal tasks, not just work tasks. I want to have a healthy work-life “balance”, plus I want to spend time with my toddler and husband, so by planning out my week I can make sure I accomplish the priority tasks.

I love using the Productivity Planner to list my priorities for each day and week and I using the 5 Minute Journal has been amazing for mindset and reminding me to see and be grateful even for the “smaller” things.

2. Under-promise deliverables and Over-budget the time needed to complete these

This means less stress for you and high satisfaction if you get more things done quicker than planned. win-win!

This one takes a bit of practice and honest mindset work. But it is so important for your mental health, anxiety and stress levels. For me, as a mum, under-promising deliverables and over-budgeting the time I’ll need, gives me the flexibility to deal with anything unexpected that might happen - with my family, a client project or externally.

3. BE KIND to yourself - just like you would to a friend

Things don’t always go to plan but usually it’s not a case of life or death so take a deep breath and do what you can. You got this.

Know when to take a break! Pause for a coffee or herbal tea. Go for a quick walk and get some fresh air (and fresh inspo!). Give yourself time to reset and you’ll feel better for it - I promise!

I hope you find these suggestions helpful! Send me a DM and let me know what’s your best tip for working from home?
